 　今日は、浜松アクトシティの大ホールで、ベートーベンの第九を聴いた。オーケストラの出来不出来は問題とせず、合唱と独唱の方々の演奏は、第九らしいものであった。

　聴きながら、ベートーベンは偉大な作曲家だとつくづくと思った。

　わたしが最初に購入したレコードは、ブルーノ・ワルター指揮、コロンビア交響楽団のベートーベン第五番だった。音楽は構築される、という感覚を持ったような記憶がある。それからは、いろいろな作曲家の音楽を聴いているが、やはりベートーベンの曲は何度も聴く。

　ベートーベンの第九と言えば、1990年にレナード・バーンスタインがBerlinでバイエルン放送交響楽団を指揮したものが、わたしはもっとも印象に残っている。世界が平和へと向かっているという高揚した雰囲気があった。それが音となって響いていた。

　今日の第九は、最終楽章ではそれなりに劇的であったが、テンポが速かった。

　1990年にBerlinで演奏されたような第九は、今後聴くことができるだろうか。わたしは、ベートーベンの第九は、じっくりと音を確認しながら演奏されるものを望む。
