強引 Forceful

In September 2015, the Abe administration passed the Security Legislation, commonly referred to as the “war laws.” This legislation clearly violated the Constitution of Japan, specifically by declaring the exercise of the right to collective self-defense to be “legal.” Until then, the legitimate legal interpretation recognized by the Legislative Bureau had been that the right to collective self-defense was prohibited under the Constitution.

Nevertheless, the Abe administration forcibly passed the Security Legislation, disregarding the established legal interpretation. Since the Abe administration, the government—composed of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party—has pushed through everything by force.

I believe that since the Abe administration, fascists have been in power in Japan. I suspect they believe that no matter what opposition there may be, if they simply force through whatever they want, the uproar will eventually subside. Regarding the security legislation, Yukio Edano, who founded the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, stated last October that “there are no unconstitutional parts.”

Now, Agriculture Minister Yana is causing a stir by drastically cutting the budgets of two local governments’ Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism offices because they did not support him in his election. Political insiders—or those well-versed in political maneuvering—are saying that Yana has no choice but to resign.

But what do you think? Ever since the Abe administration—and especially under the Takaichi administration—they’ve been pushing through everything by force, assuming that if they just stand their ground no matter how much criticism they face, things will eventually die down.

It is extremely important to oppose the policies that a fascist regime forces through. However, the LDP fascist regime, which refuses to listen to public opinion, will likely attempt to ram through its agenda by force to achieve its own objectives.

I don’t think Takaichi will dismiss Yana. Since the general public and the opposition parties cannot bring Yana down, the fascist Takaichi will likely gloss over the issue and keep Yana in his position as Minister of Agriculture.

I believe we must recognize that the party currently in power is not the Liberal Democratic Party of the past, but a Liberal Democratic Party controlled by fascists, and we should devise strategies to fight accordingly.
