 　選挙になると、候補者の顔が新聞などに掲載される。またネットでも、とりわけカネのある政党の党首など、見たくない顔が何度も何度もでてくる。気分が悪くなる。ネットの政治報道でも、そうした顔が無数に掲載される。やめてもらいたい。

　最近、ことばが破壊されているように思われる。ことばはことばなのだが、それぞれのことばが単発的で、そのことばがどういう脈絡で話されたのか、そのことばがいかなる背景を持って話されたのかなど、そういうつながりが見えなくなっている。

　だから、それをいいことに、候補者は平気でウソをついたり、根拠不明なことを明言する。

　たとえば、統一教会系の団体のインタビューを受けてそれらが雑誌に掲載されているのに、「わたしは文鮮明や統一教会なんかは知らない」という。統一教会系の団体から献金を受けているのに、「知らない」などと、堂々と否定する。

　しかしそのことばがウソであっても、ウソはつきつづければよいとばかりに、居直る。

　政治の世界は、ことばで構成されるはずだが、残念ながらことばが空を舞い、ことばが意味を失っている。

　そういう空虚なことばを吐く者たちが跋扈しているのが、日本の政界である。そういう者たちが、みずからへの利益導入にいそしみ、みずからの支持組織、大企業や宗教団体などへの利権に励む。腐っている、としかいいようがない。

　もうじき投票日。どんな結果になるか、人びとをだますキツネのような顔のリーダーが、人びとをだますことができるか、それともそのウソを見抜くことができるか。

　ことばが、本来の意味内容と重さを取り戻す日本にしたい。

Japan's political world is overrun by those who spew such empty words. These people busily funnel benefits to themselves and work tirelessly to secure privileges for their support organizations—large corporations, religious groups, and the like. It can only be described as rotten.

　Election day is approaching. What will the outcome be? Can leaders with fox-like faces deceive the people, or will the people see through their lies?

I want Japan to be a place where words regain their original meaning and weight.
