　つまり、反抗的人間が生きていくためには、みずからを鮮明にして生きていかざるを得ない。わたしはこれがおかしいと思う、これには反対だ・・・などと、常にみずからの意思を鮮明に主張していくのである。そうでないと、秩序と調和が好きな「普通の人びと」は、抑えにかかる。そうした攻撃に対し、その都度闘うのはなかなかしんどい、だから彼らが闘いを挑んでこないほどに（彼らの闘いを益田肇は、「社会戦争」という）、反抗的人間は自分自身を「普通の人びと」とは違うのだ、闘いを挑んできてもムダだという気持ちにさせなければならない。 

　しかし、こうした生き方は、名誉とかカネとか、そういうものとは縁がない。そうであっても、生きていけることは確かである。
