 　田舎に住んでいるが、時々東京に行く。子どもの家族が住んでいるからだが、東京に行くと疲れる。どんな時間でも多くの人がいて、電車も混んでいるし、歩道にも人があふれているからである。

　東京とその周辺に、大学を卒業した者たちだけではなく、働く場所を求めて移り住んでいく。東京一極集中は、歴代の自由民主党政権と官僚が推し進めてきた政策である。

　その結果、地方から若者が減っている。

　地方には、昔から伝統的な文化、芸能が残されてきた。しかし、最近、担い手がいなくなったということから、それらの行事が最後を迎えた、という報道が増えてきている。

　地方住民の生活を破壊し、地方での生活を成りたたなくさせてきた自由民主党政権。地方の公共交通機関がなくなったりするなかで、地方では車への依存度が高くなっている。たくさんの店が集中するイオンモールなどが郊外に建設され、大きなスーパーが進出し、地域の商店街が消えていく。住民はみずからの車に乗って買い物に行かなければならなくなった。地方に行くと、昔活気があった商店街は、今はシャッターが下ろされ、歩いている人も少ない。地方は破壊されている。

　地方を破壊する政策をすすめてきた自由民主党のメンバーは、「国を愛するべきだ」「日本の伝統を尊重すべきだ」などと、日本、日本と叫ぶ。

　しかし実態として、伝統的な日本は消えつつある。

　自由民主党政権は、農業も破壊してきた。農業では生活できないようにしてきたのである。したがって、農業の後継者はいなくなり、今、畑や田んぼで作業しているのは、高齢者ばかりである。農業では生きていけない、そういう職業を継ぐ人がいなくなるのは当然である。

　海外、とりわけアメリカから農産物を輸入する。日本の車などの工業製品を輸出するために、そのかわりに農産物を輸入するのだ。

　財界の言うことを聞いて政治を進める自由民主党により、地方の生活や伝統文化の基盤が奪われてきた。その自由民主党の面々が、「日本を愛しなさい」「伝統を尊重せよ」という。そしてそれを学校教育で強制するようになった。

　地方に生きる住民が今まで通りの生活ができていれば、放っておいても、「日本はいい国だ」と思うだろう。

　「日本を愛しなさい」と強制するとき、人々の健全な生活は破壊されている。大日本帝国の時代、日本人は一部を除き、貧しい生活を強いられてきた。そのとき、大日本帝国のリーダーたちは、「忠君愛国」を叫んでいた。

Big supermarkets have expanded, causing local shopping districts to disappear. Residents now have to drive their own cars to shop. When you visit rural areas, shopping districts that were once vibrant now have shutters down and few people walking around. Rural Japan is being destroyed.

Members of the Liberal Democratic Party, who have promoted policies destroying rural areas, shout “Japan, Japan,” saying things like “You should love your country” and “You should respect Japanese traditions.”

But in reality, traditional Japan is disappearing.

The LDP government has also destroyed agriculture. They made it impossible to make a living from farming. Consequently, there are no successors to take over farms, and now only elderly people work the fields and rice paddies. It's only natural that no one wants to take over a profession where you can't survive.

　They import agricultural products from overseas, especially America. They import these agricultural goods in exchange for exporting Japanese industrial products like cars.

The LDP, advancing policies dictated by business interests, has stripped away the foundations of local life and traditional culture. Yet these same LDP figures demand, “Love Japan!” and “Respect tradition!” They've even made this mandatory through school education.

　If residents living in rural areas could continue their lives as before, they would naturally think, “Japan is a good country,” even without being told.

When people are forced to “love Japan,” their healthy way of life is being destroyed. During the era of the Empire of Japan, most Japanese people, with few exceptions, were forced into poverty. At that time, the leaders of the Empire of Japan were shouting, “Be loyal to the Emperor and love your country.”
